Birth and Postpartum Doula- Packages start at $1195
I began my path into birth work in 2018 after exploring my own fertility, reproductive health and becoming a parent. My love for science and helping people blended perfectly into creating a fulfilling career as a Doula and Childbirth Educator. My passion for continual learning, commitment to evidence based information and staying current with the latest research and best practices ensures that my clients receive the highest quality care. In 2019, I completed certification through DONA International as a Birth and Postpartum Doula as well as a Lactation Educator. I graduated from Douglas College as a Childbirth Educator in 2023 and am currently a member of faculty teaching Childbirth Education to over 15 families a month. I and am a car seat safety technician through the Canadian Passenger Safety Association of Canada, and I am CPR-C and AED certified through the Red Cross. I liken my approach to that of a wedding planner. Just as a wedding planner is a professional who assists with the design and planning of a client's wedding, a doula is a professional who works with the couple to discuss their priorities surrounding their upcoming birth, feeding, and postpartum. Weddings and births are significant events in people's lives and as such, so much organization goes into it and it takes a supportive team to pull it off. The doula knows the in's and out's of each venue, whether it's a hospital or home birth. We work with obstetricians and midwives. Our experiences have taught us so much about the differences between care providers, but no matter who the "officiant" of your birth is, the doula becomes a collaborative team member. YOU make all the choices, it's your day to design. Just like a wedding planner, I will stay with you for as long as you need. Steady, calming, and always present. I will help when unexpected things happen. Prenatally, during labour and through your postpartum phase, I will offer you information, resources or encourage space to ask questions and make decisions. When I am not at a client's birth, you can find me in beautiful North Vancouver with my kids, husband, and dog along the sea wall or in the mountains. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
