Service Description

Hi, I'm Aya! I am a full spectrum birth and postpartum doula supporting families in Greater Vancouver. I want you to feel held, nourished, and at ease in your body throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. I have a warm and lighthearted approach (and occasionally some silly banter)! I provide evidence-based information, practical support, and gentle care so you feel grounded, confident, and well-informed when making decisions. I will support you with system navigation and in having smooth interactions with your care team so you get the best care possible. I will listen to your vision and desires around your birth and support you in advocating for that. I will witness you, encourage you, and hold space for you during this sacred time. I offer abhyanga oil massage to aid relaxation in labour. I can help with positioning and movement if needed, and show your partner or support person how to apply comfort measures such as hip squeezes. I can support your partner and care for your older children (if applicable) and tend to the logistical matters during your birth so you can focus on going inward. I have extensive experience supporting diverse family structures and QTBIPOC. My care extends into postpartum where I offer birth story listening, a rebozo closing of bones ceremony, a placenta print keepsake, herbal bath/tea, and in-home meal prep of warming and fortifying foods to heal and support lactation. I can support you with infant feeding or care concerns, tidy up around your home, and take care of your baby so you can catch up on rest and self care.
