Hi! My name is Yarid, though most people call me Yad—it’s the easiest way to remember me. I’m originally from Mexico and moved to Vancouver with my son, who is now 13, in search of a bit of an “out of the comfort zone” experience. And wow, it truly has been! Since arriving on these beautiful unceded lands, I’ve been learning, growing, and adapting in many ways. From working as an ECE to now being a birth and postpartum doula, I am excited to be part of your journey through pregnancy and beyond. I’ve brought together two of my passions—caring and coaching—by guiding families through some of the most transformative and intense moments of their lives, providing emotional support, up-to-date information, and tools that empower and enhance their experience. Whether you and your family choose to give birth at home or in a hospital, I will be there with you—to be your biggest cheerleader, an extra ear to listen, and to help you advocate for your decisions with kindness and knowledge. I support you in communicating with doctors or midwives and navigating the medical system, or taking care of the little details so you can fully focus on bringing your baby into the world. I truly believe that no family should go through this process alone, and having a doula to share the load makes it not only easier but, honestly, much more joyful.
